Jaipur, Nov 18 (NationPress) Rajasthan has been nationally acknowledged once again for its outstanding efforts in water management and community-led conservation initiatives.
The state has received the “Water Conservation Public Participation Award” for the third occasion, ranking third among the top-performing states in India.
This award was bestowed at a ceremony that took place at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on Tuesday.
President Droupadi Murmu, Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Paatil, Minister of State V. Somanna, and Minister of State for Jal Shakti Raj Bhushan Chaudhary collectively presented this esteemed honor.
Bhuvan Bhaskar, the Additional Secretary and Chief Engineer of the Water Resources Department, accepted the award on behalf of the state.
Barmer district has achieved the top position at the national level under the “Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari 1.0” category for its remarkable contributions to water conservation.
In addition to Barmer, eight other districts—Bhilwara, Jaipur, Udaipur, Alwar, Baran, Dungarpur, Chittorgarh, and Sikar—were also recognized in various categories for their commitment to creating a water-secure India.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma extended his congratulations to the state, emphasizing that Rajasthan is progressing with a strong commitment towards water conservation and harvesting.
He pointed out the unprecedented advancements made through extensive public involvement under the Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan–Jan Abhiyan and the Karmabhoomi to Matribhoomi Abhiyan, leading to significant milestones in water storage and groundwater recharge throughout the state.
