Ahmedabad, Oct 24 (NationPress) The Central government hosted the 17th edition of the Rozgar Mela in numerous cities and districts nationwide, including Gujarat. During this significant initiative, appointment letters were awarded to selected candidates for various Central government departments.
In Ahmedabad, the event was graced by Union Minister Nimu Bambhaniya, where 150 candidates were presented with their appointment letters. Nationwide, over 51,000 candidates received official offer letters as part of this initiative designed to enhance employment opportunities.
During a video conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the newly appointed candidates, stating, “This is not merely a job; it is a chance to serve the nation.”
He encouraged them to embrace the spirit of ‘Citizen Devo Bhava’, concentrating on serving the public and fortifying the nation.
The Prime Minister emphasized that India has been advancing with resolve over the past 11 years, with more than 11 lakh appointment letters distributed in recent years through various recruitment programs.
The Skill India Mission has been instrumental in providing training to youth nationwide to improve their employability. The government noted that initiatives like the GST Savings Festival have lowered essential goods prices, stimulated production, and created additional employment opportunities.

According to the latest Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) data for 2022-23, Gujarat boasts one of the lowest unemployment rates in India at 1.7 percent, significantly lower than the national average of 3.2 percent. This statistic reflects the state’s strong industrial foundation and a focus on entrepreneurship within its economy.
Gujarat's labour participation rate remains elevated, bolstered by sectors such as textiles, chemicals, engineering, automobile manufacturing, ports, and renewable energy.
