How Does the Rozgar Mela Ignite Aspirations for Youth?

Nagpur, July 12 (NationPress) In a remarkable effort toward boosting employment opportunities, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari presented appointment letters to individuals selected for various Central government roles during the 16th edition of the Rozgar Mela held at the CRPF Group Centre in Hingna, Nagpur.

This event is part of a nationwide campaign aimed at empowering the youth through substantial job opportunities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed attendees virtually, distributing over 71,000 appointment letters to newly hired individuals across government sectors and organisations. He underscored that the Rozgar Mela epitomizes the government’s dedication to job creation and nation-building.

The Prime Minister pointed out India’s dual strengths—its large youth demographic and its strong democratic framework—as pivotal elements driving the nation’s future.

Initiated in 2022, the Rozgar Mela has emerged as a key aspect of the government’s employment strategy. During the 16th tranche that took place on July 12, 2025, Prime Minister Modi handed out an additional 51,000 appointment letters, elevating the total number of jobs generated through this initiative to more than one million.

He reiterated the significance of youth involvement in constructing a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) and commended the flourishing ecosystem of start-ups, innovation, and research that is bolstering the capabilities of young Indians.

The Prime Minister also unveiled the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme, equipped with a budget of around Rs 1 lakh crore, which is anticipated to create approximately 3.5 crore jobs.

He mentioned that the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme has already resulted in over 11 lakh jobs, and India’s electronic manufacturing sector is valued at Rs 11 lakh crore.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari encouraged newly appointed candidates to regard their government positions not merely as jobs but as significant opportunities to contribute to society and serve the nation. He stressed the necessity of fulfilling one’s duties with commitment and aspiring for excellence in public service.

The 16th Rozgar Mela was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conferencing, connecting 47 cities across India. As part of this nationwide initiative, 25 candidates chosen for positions in departments like Railways, Postal Services, Defence, and Health received their appointment letters from Minister Gadkari at Mangal Mandap in North Nagpur.

Representing the South East Central Railway Division, the Nagpur job fair saw a total of 148 candidates officially inducted into government service. The event in Nagpur was highlighted by heartfelt accounts from newly appointed candidates.

Amol Antaram Meshram from Bonde village expressed his appreciation, stating that the Rozgar Mela provided him a platform to serve the nation.

Formerly operating a coaching institute, Meshram felt the urge to pursue a government position to realize his potential. Nidhi Kushwaha from Bankhedi village, Madhya Pradesh, who was appointed as a technician in the electrical department of Indian Railways, shared that her life had been modest until now.

She credited her maternal uncle for inspiring her to study diligently and prepare for government service, as her family lacked the means to initiate a business. Arti Blakrishna from Bhandara, Maharashtra, appointed to the signal division in grade 1, described the recruitment process as smooth and transparent.

She conveyed excitement about the chance to work in the government sector, noting that the job would mold not only her future but also that of her family for generations.

All three participants unanimously agreed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has offered a platform where they now receive recognition, whereas unemployed youth in Indian society are often treated with less respect.

The Rozgar Mela continues to act as a transformative platform, connecting capable youth with opportunities that promote self-reliance and national advancement. As the initiative grows, it remains a testament to the government’s dedication to inclusive development and the empowerment of India’s young workforce.
