New Delhi, Oct 24 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Friday that the remarkable sales during Diwali highlight how the GST Bachat Utsav has invigorated demand, production, and employment throughout the nation, stating that the GST Bachat Utsav has now evolved into the Rozgar Utsav.
Speaking at the Rozgar Mela through video conference, PM Modi pointed out that this festive period has not only brought joy but also opened new doors for countless youths who are now receiving job appointment letters.
“During this festive season, the excitement of getting appointment letters for permanent positions adds an extra layer of joy -- combining the happiness of the festival with the achievement of employment,” the Prime Minister remarked.
PM Modi noted that more than 51,000 young individuals received their appointment letters on Friday, marking a celebration of both Diwali and new employment opportunities.
“These appointments are not just government jobs, but are avenues for contributing positively to nation-building,” the Prime Minister emphasized, asserting that when the youth thrive, the nation flourishes.
The Prime Minister conveyed his warm wishes to all newly appointed individuals and their families, encouraging them to embrace the ethos of service with the mantra of Nagarik Devo Bhava.
The Prime Minister highlighted that Rozgar Melas have become a significant platform for addressing the aspirations of the youth, with over 11 lakh appointment letters issued to date.
PM Modi also mentioned the government's PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, aimed at providing employment opportunities for 3.5 crore young Indians.
“Programs like the Skill India Mission and the National Career Service are linking youth with training and job opportunities, sharing information on over 7 crore vacancies through these initiatives,” Prime Minister Modi stated.
Regarding the effects of GST reforms, the Prime Minister explained that reduced tax rates have spurred consumer demand, increased production, and generated new job prospects.
“As everyday goods become more affordable, demand surges; this rising demand accelerates production; and increased output results in new job creation. Thus, the GST Bachat Utsav is evolving into a grand Employment Festival,” PM Modi concluded.
