Bengaluru, March 21 (NationPress) Voicing its apprehensions regarding the recent events in the conflict-ridden northeastern state of Manipur, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) emphasized that it will require a considerable amount of time for a normal atmosphere to be reinstated in the area.

During a press briefing after the commencement of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS), Mukunda C.R., Joint General Secretary of the RSS, remarked: "One of the primary concerns of our organization is Manipur. The state has been enduring a challenging phase for the past 20 months. Nonetheless, there is a glimmer of hope today after evaluating the measures taken by the Central government, some of which are political and administrative in nature. These measures have uplifted the spirits of the people of Manipur.

"As an organization, we believe it will take considerable time for a natural atmosphere to be reinstated."

In response to a query regarding peace initiatives in Manipur, he stated: "As a social organization, our focus is directed towards uniting the two conflicting tribal factions, the Meitei and the Kukis. We have volunteers and affiliated groups within both communities, and we are striving to encourage dialogue among their leaders."

He further added: "Numerous political factors need to be addressed. The Central government has made decisions regarding this, and they are fulfilling their responsibilities. In the meantime, we are contributing by assisting in the unification of the communities."

"I won't reveal any names, but we are communicating with leaders from both communities. We have conducted meetings in Imphal, Guwahati, and Delhi to promote harmony. This matter is intricate and multifaceted. We are utilizing whatever influence and moral connections we have with the leadership to effect change, and it is showing positive outcomes," Mukunda stated.

He also shed light on relief initiatives, saying: "We have established hundreds of relief camps since the outbreak of violence, providing assistance to thousands of displaced individuals in their native land. Our volunteers from across the nation have not only delivered food but have also supported affected families in various capacities. These efforts have been continuous for the last 20 months.

"Now, there is a sense of optimism. With the enforcement of the President's Rule, specific administrative actions can be executed to restore order. However, as I mentioned earlier, it will take a significant amount of time to heal the wounds inflicted over these past 20 months.
