Kochi, April 17 (NationPress) In a scene reminiscent of a film, Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko successfully escaped from the third floor of a luxurious hotel in the city when a police unit arrived following a tip-off regarding his potential involvement with drugs.
Near midnight, Chacko managed to exit through the window, leaped onto the second floor, and then took the staircase to escape, leaving the officers astonished.
Since then, a manhunt has been initiated by the police and excise officials to locate the actor, yet he has remained out of reach.
Chacko, who frequently makes headlines for negative reasons, found himself in hot water again.
Earlier this week, Malayalam actress Vincy Aloshious, who previously discussed her mistreatment by a co-actor on set, identified him as Shine Tom Chacko.
She had initially refrained from naming the actor, alleging that he behaved inappropriately and was seen spitting, with some white powder emerging.
In a media statement on Thursday, she indicated that she had filed a complaint with film authorities but did not disclose the actor's name. The incident allegedly occurred during the filming of 'Soothravakyam'.
“Now that I have submitted my complaint to the film authorities, it is their responsibility to handle it. My grievance is not against the film set, but the actor. I will not approach the police, but if any responsible film-related organization reaches out to me, I will respond cautiously,” said Aloshious, noting that she had specifically instructed the Film Chamber official in writing to keep the actor's name confidential.
“Since that organization official has made it public, I will not cooperate with them,” Aloshious added.
The film authorities, including AMMA (the actors' association), along with the Film Chamber official, have decided to take this matter seriously.
Interestingly, it was the Chamber's general secretary, Saji Nandiyattu, who disclosed Chacko's name, appearing in the media to assure that action would be taken against him.
This new controversy arises as the actor has also been named by a drug dealer as a client. Following this incident earlier this month, the excise department announced plans to take action against Chacko and another actor, Srinath Bhasi.
