Chennai, April 2 (NationPress) Actor Suriya has successfully finished dubbing for his segments in director Karthik Subbaraj’s thrilling action film ‘Retro’.
On Wednesday, the film's creators released a brief video clip where Suriya humorously shared the news.
In the clip, recorded in the dubbing studio, Suriya joyfully states, “Retro dubbing mudinchiduchu. Cut and Right! (The dubbing for Retro is complete. Cut and Right!)”
Before long, the video became a sensation on social media.
The movie, featuring Suriya and Pooja Hegde in lead roles, is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1 of this year.
It is noteworthy that Suriya underwent martial arts training in Thailand to prepare for the action sequences in this film.
A few days prior, the production team announced that they had brought in acclaimed stunt choreographer Kecha, known for his work on the hit martial arts film ‘Ong Bak 2’, as the stunt director for ‘Retro’.
“Kecha was destined to be the grandmaster to call the shots for this one. Having worked on films like Ong Bak 2 and Baahubali 2, Kecha is a well-known figure in Thailand. His meticulous preparations and patience were remarkable during the shoot. Director Karthik Subbaraj conducted multiple Zoom calls to ensure the stunt team comprehended everything,” the production house stated.
The production team mentioned that stunt choreographer Kecha embraced the challenge presented by Karthik Subbaraj to create diverse fight scenes, ensuring no two fights were alike.
The makers also revealed that Suriya traveled to Thailand to train in various combat styles, noting that his dedication and hard work exceeded their expectations.
In addition to Suriya and Pooja Hegde, ‘Retro’ will showcase a talented ensemble cast, including Malayalam actors Joju George and Jayaram, along with Tamil actor Karunakaran.
Music for the film is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, with Shreyaas Krishna handling cinematography. Editing is managed by Shafique Mohamed Ali, and art direction by Jacki, Mayapandi. The film promises to deliver high-octane action featuring stunts choreographed by Kecha Khamphakdee.
