Chennai, April 17 (NationPress) The Censor Board of Film Certification has approved director Karthik Subbaraj’s highly anticipated action film ‘Retro’, starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde, for release with a U/A certificate.

The movie is set to premiere on May 1 this year, boasting a runtime of two hours, 48 minutes, and 30 seconds.

‘Retro’ has generated significant buzz as one of this year's most awaited films, especially after a teaser was shared by the film team recently.

The teaser opens with Pooja Hegde and Suriya sitting on the steps of what looks like a temple, by the riverside. Suriya vows to leave behind a life filled with violence and rowdyism, promising to stop collaborating with his father and seek happiness through her love. He then proposes to her and receives a tender kiss on his forehead in response.
