Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, Dec 28 (NationPress) Tragically, seven individuals lost their lives in three different road incidents across the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, according to police reports.
In the Sangareddy district of Telangana, three young men perished when their motorcycle plunged into a ditch. This unfortunate event occurred on the outskirts of Narayankhed along the Nizampet-Bidar highway.
Authorities reported that the motorcycle, along with its riders, fell into a trench dug for a culvert. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene and identified as Avuti Narasimhulu (27), Jinna Mallesh (24), and Jinna Mahesh (23), all hailing from Narsapur in Narayankhed mandal.
The police have transported the bodies to Sangareddy government hospital for postmortem examinations. A police representative stated that they have initiated a case and are conducting further inquiries.
The ditch was excavated for a culvert on the recently constructed 16-B National Highway, which connects Nizampet in Sangareddy district to Bidar in Karnataka.
In May, technical issues in the highway's construction came to light during heavy rainfall, resulting in water accumulation at multiple locations along the 46-km stretch, which was built at a cost of Rs 300 crore. This led to traffic disruptions.
In another incident, a couple tragically lost their lives in Jagtial district of Telangana. This accident took place near Gollapalli when a trolley vehicle collided with their motorcycle, resulting in the immediate deaths of the couple.
The deceased were identified as Lingaiah (50) and Lacchava (48), residents of Abdullapur in the same district.
Additionally, two individuals died in Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram district when a van crashed into a roadside tree at Gajapatinagar, claiming the lives of both occupants.
The victims were identified as P. Vinay Kumar and Dinesh, both from Visakhapatnam. They were returning from Rayagada in Odisha when the van driver lost control, leading to the fatal accident.
