Before heading to New Delhi, Lammy visited Sri Lanka and met with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Tuesday. The Sri Lankan President remarked that Lammy's visit boosts global confidence in Sri Lanka’s recovery following the economic crisis and Cyclone Ditwah.
Following their meeting, Dissanayake posted on X: "We welcomed UK Deputy PM David Lammy today. His timely visit underscores global confidence in Sri Lanka’s recovery from the economic crisis and Cyclone Ditwah.
