Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched the event, which has attracted tech specialists, start-up leaders, policymakers, and delegates from various nations.

BJD MP Sasmit Patra remarked in an interview with IANS about the summit's potential to significantly enhance innovation, entrepreneurship, and R&D across the nation.

Patra stressed that substantial dialogues on policy and regulatory issues are underway, showcasing a sophisticated approach to maximizing AI's potential. He noted that this gathering serves as clear proof of India’s status as a significant player in the AI landscape, suggesting platforms centered on this technology will be pivotal for national progress in the future.

He also touched on the recent India-US trade agreement, calling it a beneficial development that offers considerable advantages despite some ongoing concerns. He indicated that while tariffs have decreased, they have not been completely abolished.

This agreement particularly benefits India's micro, small, and medium enterprises, which previously struggled under high duties.

Patra noted that India has already established trade agreements with the United Kingdom and the European Union, and the US deal further strengthens economic relations. However, he advised caution regarding the agricultural sector, suggesting patience until all details are finalized before making firm conclusions.

Furthermore, Patra commented on a recent action taken by the Election Commission of India, which suspended seven officials in West Bengal for negligence during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

He characterized this issue as highly sensitive, emphasizing the need to maintain the integrity of voter lists and ensure that no eligible citizens are improperly removed. Such mistakes could jeopardize the democratic process by denying rightful voters their rights.

Patra supported the Commission's swift action against negligent officials and called for increased scrutiny at the booth-level officer stage to resolve grievances effectively and ensure fair dispute resolution.
