Uttar Pradesh Assembly's Winter Session Commences on December 16; CM Appeals for Party Collaboration

Lucknow, December 15 (NationPress) The Uttar Pradesh Assembly is preparing to commence its Winter Session starting from Monday. Although this session is brief, lasting only five days, it is expected to be quite turbulent as the Opposition, primarily represented by the Samajwadi Party (SP), intends to confront the government regarding its 'failures' concerning the Sambhal violence, anti-encroachment measures, and additional concerns.

In anticipation of the Winter Session, an all-party meeting was held on Sunday. This gathering, overseen by Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, aimed to resolve any existing disputes and formulate a strategy for the uninterrupted conduct of the House.

During the all-party meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, alongside the Speaker, requested the collaboration of all political factions to ensure the Assembly operates effectively.

The Chief Minister stressed that constructive dialogue within the House is crucial for both the development of the state and addressing public concerns, asserting that, as elected representatives, "we must prioritize the issues and worries of our constituents".

He also pointed out that the House is an essential venue for meaningful discussions that propel the state's progress and tackle significant matters.

Adityanath urged that no interruptions should obstruct the workings of the House and called for collective effort to maintain its smooth functioning.

"The cooperation of all parties is vital for the effective operation of the House," he remarked.

Attendees at the meeting included Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna, Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, Cabinet Minister Sanjay Nishad, Congress MLA Anuradha Mishra Mona, Raghuraj Pratap Singh 'Raja Bhaiya' from Jansatta Dal, Anil Tripathi, among others.

The Winter Session of both houses of the state legislature is scheduled to take place from December 16 to 20.

The supplementary budget is expected to be introduced on December 17, followed by a discussion the next day.

Legislative activities are planned for December 19 and 20.
