Thiruvananthapuram, April 7 (NationPress) In a bold move, AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal has accused Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of engaging in a series of “clandestine meetings” with senior BJP officials. On Tuesday, he released an open letter that poses ten critical questions regarding suspected backdoor agreements and governance concerns as Kerala approaches its Assembly elections.

The state is set to vote on Thursday to select 140 new MLAs.

Leading the charge, Venugopal scrutinized Vijayan's private discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his Delhi residence, noting the absence of any officials during the meeting.

He also highlighted a breakfast meeting that the Chief Minister had with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at Kerala House, where officials were again notably absent.

Additionally, he inquired about any meetings between Vijayan and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari outside of Delhi, questioning if these conversations were linked to any undisclosed arrangements with the BJP-led Central government.

Characterizing the letter as a response to public unease following ten years of LDF governance, Venugopal claimed these interactions suggest a hidden political alliance, despite Vijayan’s public portrayal of opposition to the Centre.

Furthermore, he challenged the state government's persistence with the PM SHRI scheme despite substantial pushback from the CPI, a significant LDF partner.

Venugopal accused Vijayan of excluding coalition partners from crucial discussions while forging an understanding with the BJP, raising alarms about the lack of transparency within the ruling coalition.

On labor reforms, he alleged that the government proceeded with implementing central labor codes without consulting its allies and significantly increased trade union registration fees.

He questioned whether these actions signify a departure from the Left's historically pro-worker principles.

The letter also revisited sensitive issues related to legal matters and corruption.

Venugopal pointed to the repeated delays in the SNC Lavalin case associated with Vijayan, hinting at potential political interference.

He further raised concerns about the perceived stagnation of investigations into the Exalogic Solutions case and the ongoing status of the Enforcement Directorate's actions regarding the Chief Minister's son.

Another serious allegation made by Venugopal involved the ongoing protection of ADGP M.R. Ajith Kumar, who has faced accusations regarding connections with RSS leaders and alleged involvement in the Thrissur Pooram controversy.

He concluded by demanding details about a reported meeting between Vijayan and BJP leaders facilitated by spiritual figure Sri M in the state capital.
