Hyderabad, Sep 10 (NationPress) BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao warned the residents of Jubilee Hills constituency on Wednesday that casting a vote for Congress in the forthcoming by-election would essentially grant the government a licence to demolish homes.
He accused the Congress party of intimidating voters by threatening to cut off welfare schemes unless they provide their support. KTR also alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was engaged in a conspiracy to win the Jubilee Hills by-election by distributing the significant black money acquired from builders under the guise of HYDRAA (Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency).
KTR made these remarks during a gathering of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) members from the constituency at the party’s headquarters, Telangana Bhavan.
KTR questioned if HYDRAA would dare to demolish the illegal property owned by Revanth Reddy’s brother, Tirupati Reddy, in Durgam Cheruvu. He criticized the Congress government for allegedly exploiting the poor while favoring the rich.
He inquired whether ‘Indiramma Rajyam’ signifies the demolition of homes, expressing dismay that a BRS member named Sardar had committed suicide after his house was demolished due to political vendetta for not aligning with Congress.
KTR recounted the tragic story of a woman named Buchamma from Kukatpally who took her own life out of fear that her house would be demolished by HYDRAA. The BRS leader warned that a misguided vote for Congress in the Jubilee Hills by-election would equate to granting the government permission to destroy homes.
KTR criticized Revanth Reddy for failing to achieve anything notable during his 22 months in office and resorting to desperate measures to secure victory in the Jubilee Hills by-election. He stated that the populace is disillusioned with Congress due to its unfulfilled promises and is now blaming its failures on debt.
The BRS leader implored minorities to recognize that Revanth Reddy is behaving like a BJP Chief Minister, regarding Prime Minister Modi as his elder brother and acting under his direction. He highlighted the contradiction that while Rahul Gandhi openly opposes the BJP, Modi, and entities like the CBI, Revanth is acting entirely against Congress’s principles. A vote for Revanth-led Congress, KTR asserted, is essentially a vote for Modi and the BJP.
KTR lambasted Congress for neglecting welfare and development programs for minorities that the BRS government has implemented over the past decade. For the first instance, Congress formed a government without a single minister from minority backgrounds. He accused Congress of misguiding minorities by failing to appoint an MLC and canceling vital programs such as Shaadi Mubarak and minority residential schools.
KTR urged party volunteers to mobilize for the by-election, which is expected to occur in the last week of October or the first week of November.
The vacancy arose due to the passing of sitting MLA Maganti Gopinath from BRS.
Gopinath’s wife, Maganti Sunitha, was present at the BRS workers’ meeting, and KTR expressed his hope that voters would support Sunitha with a substantial majority.
He called on the people of Jubilee Hills to stand with Gopinath’s family, who have provided significant assistance to the public during challenging times.
