Hyderabad, Nov 2 (NationPress) K. T. Rama Rao, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), raised questions regarding Rahul Gandhi's lack of response to what he described as the demolition of homes belonging to the underprivileged by the Congress government in Telangana.

The BRS leader challenged why Rahul Gandhi, who previously confronted the administrations in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to 'run over him,' was ignoring the perceived injustices occurring in Telangana.

In a presentation focusing on demolitions executed by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), KTR showcased an older video of Rahul Gandhi where he asserted that the government would have to bulldoze him to silence him.

The presentation featured the slogan 'A different justice for rich and poor', shedding light on the demolitions undertaken by HYDRAA. Numerous individuals affected by these actions voiced their concerns about the alleged injustices they faced.

KTR accused the government of perpetrating anarchy under the guise of HYDRAA in Hyderabad. He also mentioned that many residents had suffered due to the Musi project and operations by HYDRAA.

He asserted that during the decade-long leadership of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), the state experienced significant growth and construction. 'In Hyderabad alone, one lakh double-bedroom houses were constructed. The Secretariat resembles the White House, and the largest police command and control center in the country was established,' he stated.

KTR highlighted that 42 flyovers and underpasses were built in Hyderabad, district Collectorate buildings were set up, and major irrigation projects were accomplished.

'Observe the contrast. In the past two years, what Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has achieved is merely demolition,' he remarked.

Expressing confidence that the KCR-led government would regain power in less than 500 days, KTR assured that justice would prevail for all.

He accused the Congress government of operating with 'one system of justice for the affluent and another for the needy,' claiming that a house was bulldozed only a week after its housewarming event.

By showcasing videos and photos, the BRS leader recounted instances where a pregnant woman was forcibly removed for protesting against a demolition, while a three-year-old child was left without food.

Referring to a recent presentation by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, KTR questioned why the government targeted the homes of the poor rather than those of prominent builders.

'If everyone is equal in the eyes of the government, why did it not take action against the wealthy and powerful? Why weren’t they served notices?' he queried.

KTR remarked that while HYDRAA claimed it would not overlook anyone constructing buildings within the Full Tank Level (FTL) areas, it failed to act against those in influential positions.

He alleged that a Revenue Minister had constructed a house by filling a lake and questioned whether the HYDRAA Commissioner would dare to address that situation.

KTR further alleged that another minister, Vivek, had built a house near Himayat Sagar lake without facing any repercussions from HYDRAA.

The former minister also claimed that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's brother, Tirupati Reddy, had constructed a house within the Dugram Cheruvu FTL. 'The poor are rushed, denying them the time to seek court protection for their homes, but Tirupati Reddy was granted time to approach the court and obtain a stay,' he stated.

He also alleged that MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy built a house in the middle of a lake, emphasizing that HYDRAA lacked the courage to issue a notice regarding that case.

Point of View

K. T. Rama Rao's inquiries into Rahul Gandhi's silence on the demolitions in Telangana reflect a growing frustration among citizens facing injustices. The contrast between the previous administration's developmental achievements and the current government's approach to demolitions raises serious questions about governance and accountability. As the political landscape shifts, it remains crucial to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their status, are treated equitably.
