New Delhi, Jan 27 (NationPress) Experts at a workshop conducted by the Ministry of Jal Shakti recommended the adoption of low-flow fixtures and smart sanitary wares in residential settings, urging industries to innovate and produce water-efficient products to enhance water use efficiency.

The one-day workshop titled "Water Use Efficiency: Strategies for a Sustainable Future" was inaugurated by Union Minister of Jal Shakti C.R. Patil, who encouraged industry leaders to embrace and incorporate water-efficient technologies into their designs and products.

He also invited stakeholders to exchange their experiences, ideas, and challenges, promoting a collaborative effort towards water stewardship within the domestic sector.

This workshop was organized by the Bureau of Water Use Efficiency (BWUE) under the National Water Mission (NWM) in partnership with the Indian Plumbing Association (IPA), focusing on the domestic water sector.

Patil emphasized the government's dedication to water conservation through innovative methods and collaborative efforts.

The event gathered various ministries, organizations, policymakers, industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders to discuss strategies and technological advancements aimed at improving water use efficiency in the domestic sector.

A keynote address was presented by the Secretary, DoWR, RDand GR, Ministry of Jal Shakti, highlighting policy initiatives and the necessity for multi-sectoral partnerships.

Experts suggested enhancing collaborative water management models across sectors and fortifying policies to back water efficiency initiatives.

The workshop saw participation from over 350 attendees, including representatives from line ministries, diverse industries in the water sector, water management NGOs, and other stakeholders.

Moreover, more than 20 experts and speakers contributed presentations and insights during the discussions.

During the workshop, esteemed speakers underscored the significance of sustainable practices and advanced technologies in water management, sharing case studies that demonstrated the effectiveness of collaborative approaches and showcasing real-world examples of successful water management models.
