Lucknow, Oct 12 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a meeting with the Gomti Task Force of the 137 Composite Ecological Task Force Battalion (TA) to assess the advancements made in the ongoing revitalization of the Gomti River as part of the National Mission for Clean Ganga.
In this crucial meeting, Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva, Chief of Staff at Central Command of the Indian Army, informed Chief Minister Yogi about the continuous efforts, including foot and boat patrols, the removal of over 1000 tons of water hyacinth, and more than 100 awareness campaigns engaging over 70,000 residents.
“The Chief Minister acknowledged these initiatives and instructed the establishment of an inter-departmental committee to facilitate coordinated actions aimed at restoring the holy Gomti River to its original beauty,” stated the Central Command of the Indian Army on X.
Simultaneously, the Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, with numerous events throughout the state, including a 'Run for Unity'.
Thousands of young people from across the nation will join this march to spread awareness regarding national unity and the initiatives of the Jan Jagran Abhiyan.
In a media briefing on Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath detailed the comprehensive plan for state-wide celebrations. He announced that a three-day padayatra, covering 8 to 10 kilometers, will occur in every Lok Sabha constituency, passing through all Vidhan Sabha segments.
Prior to the padayatra, various local public awareness activities will be implemented, including essay competitions, debate contests, seminars about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's life and contributions, street plays, and symposiums.
Additionally, youth-oriented initiatives like a Drug-Free India pledge, the 'Vocal for Local' and 'Local for Global' campaigns, along with Yoga and health camps, will be organized throughout the state.
A dedicated cleanliness drive will also be launched. During the padayatra, local committees, social organizations, and cultural groups will hold wreath-laying and tribute events at statues of Sardar Patel.
