New Delhi, Sep 3 (NationPress) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi strives to establish a robust domestic chip manufacturing ecosystem and decrease reliance on imports of this crucial technology, semiconductor equipment manufacturer ASML Holding NV, a global frontrunner in semiconductor lithography, has made a compelling case for business in India.
ASML made its debut at 'SEMICON India 2025', highlighting its dedication to bolstering India’s burgeoning semiconductor sector.
“India is making significant strides in realizing its semiconductor ambitions, backed by investments, a skilled workforce, and strong government support. We commend India’s vision as it promises to enhance the global industry,” stated Christophe Fouquet, President and CEO of ASML.
“We eagerly anticipate gaining deeper insights into India’s semiconductor landscape, forging new connections, and creating opportunities,” Fouquet noted.
The CEO expressed at the summit that the semiconductor equipment giant, a key supplier to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and Samsung Electronics Co., aims to deepen its collaboration with Indian enterprises in the coming year.
The firm showcased its extensive lithography portfolio, which encompasses inspection tools, metrology, computer software, and lithography systems.
With robust demand in smartphones, automotive, and 5G IoT, coupled with strong governmental backing, India's semiconductor market is projected to exceed USD 55 billion by 2026 and reach USD 100 billion by 2030, according to ASML.
ASML shared that its integrated lithography approach combines three pivotal product categories: advanced lithography systems, computational lithography software, and metrology and inspection tools.
Armed with state-of-the-art lithography technologies, ASML is ideally suited to aid Indian chipmakers in developing more compact and powerful chips while enhancing yield and performance, facilitating high-volume, cost-effective production.
The government aims to foster a reputable domestic chip sector, anticipating that the first chips manufactured in India will be available by year-end, potentially opening a new market for ASML's equipment.
