New Delhi, Oct 3 (NationPress) Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated on Friday that the superior quality standards and swift progress of the ongoing Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project exemplify the robust collaboration between India and Japan.
In a post on X, the minister revealed that he visited the High-Speed Rail (HSR) site in Surat alongside Hiromasa Nakano, Japan's Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
"Visited the Surat HSR site with H.E. @Hiro_NAKANO_today. Witnessed track slab laying and adjustment facility," posted the minister.
"The quality standards and rapid pace of work reflect the strong Bharat–Japan partnership," he added.
Following the inspection, Vaishnaw and Nakano took a ride on the Vande Bharat train from Surat to Mumbai.
"Travelling with H.E. @Hiro_NAKANO_aboard Vande Bharat Express from Surat to Mumbai," the minister noted in another post.
The Union Minister for Railways had previously inspected the Surat High-Speed Rail Station and remarked that construction on the Surat–Bilimora section was advancing swiftly.
The civil work at the station has been completed, with finishing touches and utility installations currently in progress, the minister explained.
Detailing the project, the Union Minister mentioned that modern and innovative technology is being utilized.
During his visit, he emphasized that the track work is moving ahead rapidly, and the first turnout has been successfully installed at Surat station.
He also pointed out that the tracks are equipped with roller bearings, which enhance safety and ensure smooth operation of the bullet train at high speeds.
The Union Minister further stated that this project will reduce travel time between Surat and Mumbai to just one hour.
He added that the high-speed rail initiative will revolutionize connectivity, boost economic activity, and transform the Ahmedabad–Mumbai route into a crucial economic corridor.
According to him, the project will also establish new standards in railway technology and redefine the passenger experience.
