Mumbai, March 11 (NationPress) Bollywood megastar Aamir Khan, who recently appeared in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, disclosed that he has never been extended a film offer by renowned director Subhash Ghai, despite his status as a prominent icon in the industry.
The actor engaged in a conversation with esteemed lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar in Mumbai, sharing, “The directors I aspired to collaborate with, the successful ones, including Subhash Ghai, were at the pinnacle of their careers. I was eager to work with them, yet none extended an offer.”
He continued, “They didn’t approach me with an offer,” to which the veteran screenwriter humorously inquired, “Have you ever expressed gratitude towards them?”
To this, the superstar replied, “Hence, I opted from the other proposals I received. It was only when the filming of those projects began that I realized what choices I had made.”
At the same gathering, Javed Akhtar remarked, “Who in their right mind would take on the role in ‘Dangal’, portraying an older man who loses to his daughter in wrestling? All actors choose to work with directors known for their successful films. You take risks that others won’t.”
Aamir stated that being selective is something that manifested early in his career. He mentioned that post his debut in ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, he faced challenges in finding quality scripts, yet he still declined numerous film offers.
