Mumbai, Aug 31 (NationPress) Director Danish Renzu, the mastermind behind the recently launched streaming film ‘Songs of Paradise’, has revealed the meticulous planning that went into the film’s production.
This period drama draws inspiration from the life of Padma Shri award recipient, Raj Begum. The main roles are played by Saba Azad and Soni Razdan, spanning across two distinct eras. The film provides an insightful glimpse into the life of this esteemed figure.
In a recent interview with IANS during the film's promotional efforts, Renzu elaborated on achieving the authentic production design. He stated, “The entire film has been shot at real locations, including actual houses and ancient structures like silk factories and Amar Singh College. They retain their historical essence, untouched by modern alterations.”
Renzu emphasized that the well-preserved architecture of Kashmir allowed the crew to find suitable settings without extensive modifications.
He shared with IANS, “Kashmir has an inherent vibe, especially in downtown areas where we filmed. It remains raw and genuine, devoid of excessive man-made alterations. I ensured we filmed in locations that looked as authentic as possible. Fortunately, we discovered these locations that mirrored their original state, reducing the need for visual effects. That’s the beauty of this project.”
Previously, actress Saba Azad discussed her challenges in mastering the Kashmiri accent for her role. Although she had familiarity with accents from different parts of Kashmir, the character specifically required the Srinagar dialect, making it a rigorous task for her.
Produced by Excel Entertainment, Apple Tree Pictures, and Renzu Films, ‘Songs of Paradise’ is now streaming on Prime Video.
