Mumbai, Jan 16 (NationPress) Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were seen at Lilavati Hospital recently to visit Saif Ali Khan, who was allegedly stabbed during a robbery attempt. The footage of the Bollywood duo from the hospital is circulating on social media.
Prior to this, Kareena Kapoor, Saif's wife, along with his sister Soha Ali Khan, daughter Sara Ali Khan, and son Ibrahim Ali Khan, were also spotted at the Lilavati Hospital to check on the actor.
Initially, it was reported that Saif's elder son, Ibrahim, transported him to the hospital. However, a source clarified, “Neither Ibrahim nor Taimur. House help took the actor to the hospital in an auto-rickshaw.”
According to reports, Saif Ali Khan was attacked with a 2.5 inch knife by an intruder who broke into his Bandra residence. The 'Vikram Vedha' star suffered six injuries, two of which are located near his spine.
Dr. Nitin Dange, who participated in the surgery, stated, "Saif Ali Khan was admitted at 2:00 am. He suffered a serious injury to the thoracic spinal cord due to the knife lodged in his spine. Surgery was performed to extract the knife and to repair the leaking spinal fluid. Two other significant wounds on his left hand and neck were treated by the plastic surgery team. He is currently stable and recovering well.”
Saif’s team issued a statement indicating that the actor is now out of danger post-surgery. The statement read, “Saif Ali Khan has successfully undergone surgery and is out of danger. He is in recovery, and the doctors are monitoring his condition. All family members are safe, and the police are probing the event.”
The unfortunate event occurred at 2:15 am when the burglar reportedly entered the home and attacked the house help. Disturbed by the noise, Saif Ali Khan was injured while defending the help.
Kareena Kapoor Khan was also present at home with other family members during the incident.
