Mumbai, Feb 10 (NationPress) In light of the uproar regarding podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia's inappropriate statement, Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has asserted that those who infringe upon the boundaries of decency will be held accountable.
While addressing the media, the CM remarked, “I have been made aware of this issue, although I haven’t viewed it personally. I learned that it was exceedingly vulgar, and this is unacceptable. Everyone possesses the right to freedom of expression, but this freedom is compromised when it infringes upon the rights of others. There are boundaries for all; if someone surpasses them, action will be initiated.”
Two attorneys from Mumbai have taken the step to file a police complaint against Allahbadia, who is famously recognized as the BeerBiceps Guy.
In a recent episode of Samay Raina's show “India's Got Latent,” alongside fellow content creators like Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija, Allahbadia astonished viewers by posing an inappropriate question to a female contestant: “Would you prefer to observe your parents engage in sexual activity every day for the remainder of your life or participate once and cease it forever?”
The complaint has been submitted to the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women's Commission, with the complainants urging for strict measures against the accused. The complaint also implicates Samay Raina and the organizers of the show “India's Got Latent.”
Ranveer's statement has ignited a firestorm of criticism across social media platforms, receiving backlash from both netizens and public figures.
Lyricist Manoj Muntashir, among the first to denounce the incident, labeled the comment as “vulgar comedy” and condemned the creators for degrading the standards of humanity. On his X account, he stated, “This is the caliber of comedy that has diminished the essence of humanity. More perilous than Covid, viruses have infiltrated our smartphones. These vampires, these deviants, are determined to rob our future generation of values.”
He further cautioned, “This serves as a wake-up call for parents. Act now, or you will witness the decline of your children and your great nation firsthand. @MIB_India Immediate action must be taken against all individuals in this panel. If you merely pause after reading this and fail to voice your concerns, you will bear the consequences of your own downfall.”
This isn’t the first instance where “India's Got Latent” has landed in hot water. Just last week, a contestant from Arunachal Pradesh faced legal action due to her controversial commentary regarding dog meat.
