Kangana Invites Priyanka Gandhi and the Gandhi Family to Experience ‘Emergency’

Mumbai, Jan 8 (NationPress) Actress Kangana Ranaut, who is preparing for her new film ‘Emergency’, disclosed that she has sent an invitation to politician Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
The movie narrates the events of the 21-month period from 1975 to 1977 when former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi proclaimed a state of emergency in India, citing both internal and external threats.
The actress, who plays the role of Indira Gandhi in the film, spoke to IANS ahead of the film’s release on January 17.
She mentioned to IANS, “I actually met Priyanka Gandhi in the parliament. The first thing I told her was, ‘You should see the Emergency’. She was very gracious and responded, ‘Yeah, maybe’. So we will see if they want to watch the film. I believe it’s a very sensitive and sensible representation of a significant episode and an important personality. I have made a concerted effort to depict Mrs. Gandhi with utmost dignity. My research revealed an overwhelming focus on her personal life, including her relationships with her husband and friends, as well as controversial dynamics.”
She continued, “I realized that every individual has more depth than what is often portrayed. This is particularly true for women, who frequently are defined by their relationships with the men around them. Most of the controversial aspects were centered around that. However, I have chosen to depict her with great dignity and sensibility, and I feel everyone should experience this film.”
Kangana emphasized that Indira Gandhi was also a widely admired leader.
“Despite some tumultuous events during the emergency and other issues, she was greatly loved and respected. Being a three-time Prime Minister is no small feat; she was celebrated and cherished.”
