Mumbai, Jan 16 (NationPress) The renowned Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan’s team has released an official statement urging fans and the media to remain calm and refrain from further speculation as law enforcement continues their investigation into Saif Ali Khan’s stabbing incident.
A message from the actress’s team stated: “An attempted burglary occurred at the residence of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan last night.”
“Saif sustained an injury to his arm and is currently hospitalized for a procedure. The rest of the family is safe. We kindly ask the media and fans to exercise patience and avoid further speculation, as the police are conducting their investigations. Thank you all for your concern. Team Kareena Kapoor Khan.”
According to sources, Kareena and their children were present at home when the incident transpired.
Saif’s team also issued a statement, confirming: “An attempted burglary took place at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently hospitalized and undergoing surgery. We request the media and fans to remain patient. This is now a police matter.”
A source revealed that Saif confronted the thief without a weapon to protect his family. The altercation happened in the early hours of the morning. He bravely defended his family, sustaining injuries in the process, while the intruder was armed.
The actor suffered “six stab wounds,” with “two being deep,” reported a doctor at Lilavati Hospital.
Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, stated that Saif was assaulted by an unknown assailant at his Bandra residence and was admitted at 3:30 AM.
Uttamani confirmed that Saif sustained six stab wounds, two of which were deep.
“One of the wounds is close to the spine. He is being treated by a team of doctors led by Neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, along with cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain and anaesthetist Dr. Nisha Gandhi,” Uttamani added.
The Mumbai Police detained three individuals employed at Saif's home shortly after the attack for questioning.
Reports indicate that Saif was stabbed by an intruder who entered his Mumbai home. The incident occurred around 4:00 AM. The actor is currently receiving medical care at Lilavati Hospital. The police have initiated an investigation and an FIR has been filed against the intruder at the Bandra Police Station.
