Chennai, Feb 19 (NationPress) The renowned Malayalam actor Mohanlal unveiled the talented Bollywood star Sachin Khedekar as P K Ramdas in the highly anticipated political action thriller L2: Empuraan (L2E), directed by Prithviraj.
On his X timeline, Mohanlal shared, “Character No17 Sachin Khedekar as P K Ramdas in #L2E #EMPURAAN.” He also included a link to a YouTube clip featuring Khedekar discussing his role in the film.
In the video, Sachin Khedekar mentioned, “I portrayed PK Ramdas or PKR in Lucifer. You may recall me as PKR, a dignified leader from Nedumpally who advocated for justice. Although my time on screen was brief, it remains one of the most significant roles I've undertaken.”
Khedekar expressed gratitude for the affection he has received for this character, saying, “Whenever I'm out and about, whether traveling or dining alone, Malayalees approach me and say, 'PKR?' It's truly heartwarming.”
Regarding the sequel, Khedekar revealed his screen presence would be even more limited, but assured that the impact of his character would resonate throughout the film.
“I have another chance to collaborate with Lal sir, in a delightful scene that sets the stage for the pivotal events to come. It’s a pleasure to reunite with my dear friend Prithvi. The scale of this film is remarkable, and I am thrilled to be part of a project aiming to redefine Malayalam cinema,” he noted.
The film L2: Empuraan (L2E), starring Mohanlal, is helmed by actor Prithviraj and jointly produced by Antony Perumbavoor and Subaskaran. The screenplay is penned by Murali Gopy, while the music is composed by Deepak Dev. Cinematography is handled by Sujith Vaassudev, with editing by Akhilesh Mohan.
It is noteworthy that Prithviraj had previously stated during early production that this film would be a commercial entertainer featuring Mohanlal. Murali Gopy mentioned that this is the second entry in a trilogy.
The first installment, Lucifer, released in 2019 and marked Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial debut, becoming a blockbuster within just eight days. It grossed over Rs 200 crore, establishing itself as the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time.
