Chennai, Jan 22 (NationPress) Director Ram Gopal Varma, who recently wrote a personal confession expressing his remorse for not establishing his film ‘Sathya’ as the standard for his future projects, has now revealed his upcoming film titled ‘Syndicate’.
Through his X account, Ram Gopal Varma announced that he has committed to eradicating all his cinematic missteps with this singular project, ‘Syndicate’, and mentioned that the cast and further specifics will be unveiled shortly.
He stated, “Following my confession regarding ‘Satya’, I have resolved to create the most significant film ever. The film is called ‘Syndicate’. It revolves around a menacing organization that jeopardizes the very fabric of India.”
Ram Gopal Varma elaborated on the theme of his new film.
“Street gangs that thrived until the 70s were dismantled when they merged into radical political factions, and later, with the emergence of smugglers driven by high demand for electronic goods and gold, these were also eradicated by economic reforms. Subsequently, formidable corporate syndicates like D COMPANY arose, only to face eventual defeat.”
“In a similar vein, the early Black September terrorists were overshadowed by the lethal Al Qaeda, which in turn seemed insignificant compared to the terrifying ISIS group. There has been a notable absence of significant criminal entities in India for the past 10 to 15 years, but the current intense polarization among various factions in the country creates a timely opportunity for a new criminal organization to emerge. Unlike previous organizations, this new entity collaborates across various sectors including law enforcement, political figures, affluent businessmen, and even the military, thus forming a Syndicate.
“Syndicate presents a futuristic narrative not set in some distant future but rather depicts events that could unfold as soon as tomorrow or next week. For instance, the world was taken by surprise by Al Qaeda on September 11th, 2001, unaware of its existence just a day prior. Syndicate begins with the profound assertion: ‘Only man can be the most terrifying animal.’”
“This introduction paves the way for a series of unimaginable yet meticulously calculated occurrences, orchestrated by a covert group named Syndicate, whose sole aim is to transform India into a new India.
“Syndicate promises to be a chilling film not due to any supernatural elements but because it will starkly reveal the horrors that humanity is capable of inflicting. The film will delve deeply into the cyclical nature of crime and terror, demonstrating that even in our moments of triumph, the unsettling reality is that crime and terror are ever-present. They continually re-emerge in increasingly perilous forms. I have vowed to cleanse myself of all my cinematic faults through this one film, Syndicate. More details regarding the cast will be shared soon.”
