Sean 'Diddy' Combs Cancels Bail Appeal, Will Stay in Jail Until May 2025

Los Angeles, Dec 14 (NationPress) The disgraced rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs has decided to cancel his bail appeal, which means he will remain in jail until his trial set for May 2025.

The rapper's attempts to secure bail have been unsuccessful on three occasions. The first bail denial occurred during his arraignment in federal court on September 17, just a day after his arrest in a Manhattan hotel room on serious federal sex crime charges, according to reports from People magazine.

His second request for bail was turned down the following day, September 18, by a different judge who expressed concerns about the potential for witness tampering.

As reported by People, Combs’ third and latest bail request was denied on November 27. At that time, Judge Arun Subramanian from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York provided multiple reasons for the decision, highlighting that Combs poses a danger to the community and the severity of the violent crimes for which he has been charged.

Due to Combs' recent motion, he will remain incarcerated until his trial on May 5, 2025. He has been in custody since his September indictment, facing charges that include sex trafficking by force, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy.

The indictment alleges that Combs led a criminal enterprise that enabled him to sexually, physically, emotionally, and verbally abuse his victims over a prolonged period. He is accused of having abused, threatened, and coerced women and others to satisfy his sexual desires, safeguard his image, and hide his misconduct, according to the indictment. Additional charges include narcotics offenses, arson, bribery, kidnapping, forced labor, and various other crimes.

Attorney Tony Buzbee, representing several alleged victims, stated that Combs may be facing approximately 300 cases, as reported by the BBC. He noted that his team has fielded around 3,000 calls following an appeal for potential victims to come forward through social media and a press conference held on October 1.

"I think that the potential [number of] cases is probably in the 300 range, but realistically, it will likely be around 100 to 150,” he informed the BBC. Numerous individuals, both men and women, have alleged misconduct against Combs, with allegations spanning over a 20-year period, as per the BBC's report citing Buzbee.

To date, the attorney has filed 20 lawsuits from individuals seeking damages from the rapper.
