Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 12 (NationPress) After her impactful performances in Anubhav Sinha's critically acclaimed films like Mulk and Thappad, Taapsee Pannu is preparing for their third collaboration, Assi - a must-see. The actress has shared her insights on collaborating with the renowned filmmaker.
Discussing Sinha's work, she noted: “I wouldn’t like to limit Anubhav Sir to just courtroom dramas. He offers so much more that makes his films resonate deeply, almost like a reflection of our own lives.”
“From courtroom narratives such as Mulk and Assi to poignant stories like Thappad and Article 15, his storytelling presents realities with such finesse that it can be difficult to confront when that mirror is shown.”
Taapsee emphasized how Anubhav reveals the realities of life “in an effortless way that makes them impossible to overlook, lending his films a profound impact.”
She added, “With a director capable of narrating even the simplest stories powerfully, actors find themselves in a secure space. Thus, I don’t believe anyone can assert that an actor didn’t deliver a commendable performance in his films.”
The actress remarked that the material Anubhav provides and the moments he allows actors to build create “minimal opportunities for an invested actor to falter. If you are truly committed, the scenes and dialogues he offers feel like a child in a candy store.”
Assi features Taapsee Pannu in the lead role, joined by Kani Kusruti, Revathy, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, along with special appearances by Naseeruddin Shah, Supriya Pathak, and Seema Pahwa, enhancing the film’s engaging narrative.
Presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series, Assi is a production by Benaras Media Works, directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Anubhav Sinha.
The film is set to hit theaters worldwide on February 20.
