Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 26 (NationPress) As actor Vishal Mohan faces criticism for his recent film 'Yadav Ji Ki Love Story', he discussed the role of controversy in film marketing.
In an exclusive interview with IANS, Vishal remarked that during filmmaking, the focus of everyone involved is not on the surrounding controversies, but rather on creating a significant and engaging experience for the audience.
When asked about the current trend of controversies being used as promotional tools, he acknowledged the dual nature of controversies.
"However, when we embark on making a film, the focus of the producer, director, and actors is never on controversy. Our priority is to contribute positively to society and the audience through impactful performances, thoughtful writing, and dedicated direction. That’s where our minds are focused," he articulated.
In response to inquiries about the film's title sparking considerable debate, he expressed that the intent behind the film is clear.
Further clarifying, he stated, "The meanings some people derive from the title do not reflect the essence of the film. For us, our nation and culture are paramount. Our belief is in a single identity — we are Indians. Beyond that, we are all siblings."
Vishal emphasized that 'Yadav Ji Ki Love Story' is a wholesome, family-friendly film.
"You can enjoy it with your children and parents without any reservations. It’s unjust to judge a two-hour cinematic experience based solely on a brief promotional snippet," he added.
Despite the film being the center of protests over its depiction of an interfaith romance involving a member of the Yadav community, leading to FIRs and calls for its ban, Vishal remains firm in his stance.
