Mumbai, March 7 (NationPress) Renowned actress Zeenat Aman recounted an intriguing and somewhat awkward experience from her career when a fan mistook her for the late iconic actress Parveen Babi.
During an AMA session on Reddit, the esteemed actress interacted with fans, addressing a variety of inquiries. One Reddit user posed the question, “As a child, I often confused you with Parveen Babi. Have you ever experienced confusion from fans in public?”
In her response, the 'Satyam Shivam Sundaram' actress admitted that it was a frequent occurrence for her to be mistaken for Parveen. However, one particular instance in Dubai left her feeling quite uncomfortable. Zeenat revealed, “That was a very common error. Parveen was breathtaking, so I didn’t mind! But there was one particularly awkward moment in Dubai when a woman went completely overboard, believing I was Parveen, even after her passing! It was extremely uncomfortable, and I had to gently inform that disappointed fan that her favorite actress was no longer with us.”
When a fan inquired if there was any recent role she thought she could have played, Zeenat expressed her desire to portray a character originally played by Priyanka Chopra.

My question is, 'While watching the latest Bollywood films, have you ever felt that you would have excelled in this role during your time?'” The veteran actress replied, “I don’t know if I would have excelled, but I would have loved the opportunity to play Priyanka Chopra’s character in Bajirao Mastani. It was a multifaceted role that truly intrigued me.”
Another fan questioned the 'Dostana' actress about the contrasts between the film industry then and now. Zeenat candidly reflected on how it wasn’t unusual for her to be the sole woman on set.
“I recognize that people often criticize the Hindi film industry, and much of it is justified. Yet, a significant and positive change I observe is that there are women at every level of the process, making their mark with skill and determination. In my era, it wasn't uncommon to be the only woman present on set! This is a remarkable difference to me,” Zeenat commented.
