Five IS Fighters Eliminated in Airstrikes in Iraq

Baghdad, Nov 30 (NationPress) Five Islamic State (IS) fighters were eliminated in airstrikes in the northern Iraqi province of Kirkuk, according to the Iraqi military's report on Saturday.
Acting on intelligence, Iraqi forces executed airstrikes on IS hideouts located in the Hamrin mountain range in the southeastern area of Kirkuk province on Friday, as per a statement from the Security Media Cell, which is associated with the Iraqi Joint Operations Command, reported by Xinhua news agency.
On Saturday morning, a combined force from the Iraqi army and intelligence conducted a search of two bombed hideouts and discovered the remains of five terrorists, the statement indicated.
Additionally, the joint force uncovered weapons, ammunition, explosives, logistical supplies, and communication equipment in the hideouts.
The security landscape in Iraq has shown improvement since the defeat of IS in 2017. Nonetheless, remnants of IS have infiltrated urban centers, deserts, and rough terrains, executing recurrent guerrilla assaults against security personnel and civilians.
