Ghana's President-elect Promises Governance Reforms for National Progress

Accra, Dec 10 (NationPress) Ghana's President-elect John Dramani Mahama pledged to initiate crucial governance reforms and sometimes strict measures over the next four years to realign the nation and restore its status as the Black Star of Africa.

Mahama expressed these sentiments in a speech delivered to thousands of party supporters at his campaign headquarters in the capital, Accra, on Monday evening, shortly after being announced by Ghana's Electoral Commission as the victor of the 2024 presidential election held on December 7, according to reports from Xinhua news agency.

“This mandate signifies a call to action... This mandate symbolizes a new dawn and establishes a fresh direction for our cherished nation. Ghana does not belong to just one individual or family. It is for all of us, and we must strive not only to be born and pass away here, but to live here in contentment,” he stated in his address.

Mahama is set to be inaugurated on January 7, 2025.
