Increase in Hotel Prices for New Year Holidays in Russia

Moscow, Dec 7 (NationPress) The average hotel prices in Russia for this year's New Year festivities have escalated by 19 percent compared to the same period last year, as indicated by the latest analytics reports.
The average cost for short-term rental apartments over the holiday period in the 16 largest cities of Russia also saw an increase of 16 percent year-on-year, reaching approximately 8,000 rubles (around 81 US dollars) per day, according to CIAN.Analytics, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.
The most significant price hike is in Moscow, where a weekend apartment costs 25.7 percent more than during the previous holiday season, the analysis revealed.
Experts attribute this price surge to rising demand coupled with a constrained supply of hotels during the New Year holidays.
TravelLine, an online hotel booking platform, reported that hotel reservations in sought-after destinations during the New Year holidays increased by 6.9 to 25.2 percent year-on-year.
Russian Minister of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov, has stated that approximately 33 million tourist trips are anticipated across Russia this winter season, marking an increase of 13.8 percent from the previous year.
