He stated that the two nations are united by a centuries-old friendship stemming from trade connections and robust people-to-people interactions.
He highlighted that both nations share a common aspiration for fostering peace and prosperity for their populations within the region.
“India and Bahrain's enduring friendship is supported by trade connections and strong interpersonal ties. We are united in our commitment to promoting peace and prosperity for our citizens and our shared region. Since our last High Joint Commission meeting, we have made substantial advancements in areas such as defense, security, trade and commerce, healthcare, culture, and people-to-people relationships. New domains like space, fintech, and technology also hold great potential for our collaboration,” EAM Jaishankar remarked.
He also congratulated Bahrain on successfully hosting the 21st Manama Dialogue and extended his best wishes as the nation prepares to take on the presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) at the forthcoming GCC Summit in Manama next month. Jaishankar expressed optimism that Bahrain’s support would further enhance the cooperation between India and the GCC.
Discussing maritime collaboration, Jaishankar noted, “India has actively participated in the Combined Maritime Forces based in Manama. In September 2025, three Indian naval vessels visited Bahrain, strengthening our bilateral friendship and showcasing the Indian Navy’s commitment to regional maritime security.”
Jaishankar underscored the steady growth in bilateral trade and investment relations between India and Bahrain.
“We invite Bahraini investors to explore opportunities in India. The finalization of a Bilateral Investment Treaty and the establishment of a Joint Working Group on Trade and Investment will further enhance our economic ties,” stated Jaishankar.
“We are implementing various initiatives to bolster our collaboration in healthcare. Our space agencies are also progressing towards deepening their partnership. We enjoy vibrant cultural cooperation and strong interpersonal ties. Earlier this year, we launched the electronic visa system for Bahraini citizens, which I hope will encourage more visitors from Bahrain,” he added.
