Myanmar Authorities Confiscate 188,000 Stimulant Tablets and 16 kg of Methamphetamine

Yangon, December 5 (NationPress) The authorities in Myanmar have successfully confiscated 188,000 stimulant tablets along with 16 kg of ICE (methamphetamine) in the eastern region of Shan state, as reported by the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Thursday.

Following a tip-off, anti-narcotics police conducted a search at a residence in Tachileik town in Shan state on December 3, leading to the recovery of the illegal substances, the report indicated.

The confiscated narcotics hold a street value exceeding 211.2 million kyats (approximately 100,571 US dollars), as reported by the Xinhua news agency.

A suspect has been arrested and charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law of the country, with further investigations currently underway.
