Netanyahu Issues Warning to Houthis Amid Reports of Potential Israeli Airstrike

Jerusalem, Dec 26 (NationPress) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cautioned that Houthi forces in Yemen would endure repercussions akin to those faced by other groups opposing Israel.
"The Houthis, too, will learn what Hamas, Hezbollah, the Assad regime, and others have experienced, and even if it takes time, this lesson will resonate throughout the Middle East," Netanyahu stated in a video message.
Earlier on Wednesday, Houthi forces launched a ground-to-ground missile towards Israel for the second day in a row. That evening, they also fired a drone, which ultimately crashed in an open field in southern Israel, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
Israel is reportedly considering a new extensive strike against Houthi forces in Yemen, following a series of missile and drone attacks attributed to the Houthis.
On Tuesday, Israel's state-owned Kan TV reported that the military has been preparing for a potential operation. Citing high-ranking security officials, Kan TV stated that the Israeli Air Force, Military Intelligence, and Operations Directorate have been "developing significantly more aggressive plans and expanding the target database" throughout Yemen following the previous attack last week.
Since October of last year, Houthi forces have intermittently launched missile and drone attacks on Israel, expressing solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. Israel has retaliated with several large-scale airstrikes, the most recent of which occurred last week, resulting in at least nine fatalities.
On Wednesday morning, Israeli media reported that sirens activated after a "missile" from Yemen neared Tel Aviv.
The Houthi group later announced that they launched two drones at the Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Ashkelon on Wednesday, targeting "vital" and "industrial" sectors.
"We conducted two military operations, with the first targeting a vital and sensitive area in the city of Tel Aviv. The second operation aimed at the industrial zone in Ashkelon city," Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea stated in a press release.
