Netanyahu Warns of 'Forceful Action' Against Yemen's Houthis

Jerusalem, Dec 23 (NationPress) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted that Israel will act with force against the Houthi faction in Yemen, just a day after the group fired a missile towards the Tel Aviv area.
'Just as we acted with force against Iran's (other) allies, we will act against the Houthis,' Netanyahu stated in a video message on Sunday.
He underscored that Israel is not alone in this stance, highlighting that the United States and other nations share Israel's perspective that the Houthis represent 'a threat not only to international shipping but to the global order.'
'Thus, we will act with strength, determination, and ingenuity,' Netanyahu continued. 'Even if it takes time, the outcome will be the same as with other terrorist organizations.'
Netanyahu's remarks followed a ballistic missile fired by the Iran-backed group, which detonated in a playground in south Tel Aviv on Saturday, injuring 16 people and causing significant destruction after interception attempts failed, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
A Houthi missile struck a playground and a building in Tel Aviv overnight from Friday to Saturday, resulting in injuries and structural damage, according to the latest updates from Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service.
This Houthi attack came after a series of Israeli airstrikes on Thursday, which targeted Yemen's capital Sanaa and the ports of Hodeidah, As-Salif, and Ras Issa. These strikes, as stated by the Israeli military, aimed at Houthi infrastructure and resulted in the deaths of at least nine individuals.
It marked the second instance within two days that a Houthi missile triggered sirens in the central region of the country late at night, following a warhead launched on Thursday that was partially intercepted outside Israeli airspace and crashed into an unoccupied school building in the city of Ramat Gan, causing considerable damage but no injuries.
