Pakistan: Four Militants Neutralized as Police Thwart Terror Attack in Punjab

Islamabad, Dec 2 (NationPress) Four militants were neutralized, and two policemen were injured during an attempt by police in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province to thwart a terrorist assault, an official statement revealed.
The incident took place on Sunday in the Mianwali district of the province, where approximately 20 militants launched an attack on a police station, as reported by the district's police.
The officers stationed within the police station were vigilant, and due to their swift actions, the terrorists' plans were thwarted, leading them to flee the area, according to reports from Xinhua news agency.
The confrontation led to an exchange of gunfire, resulting in the deaths of several militants, the statement added.
Authorities have taken custody of the deceased militants, and an investigation is currently underway to identify them.
As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
