Tel Aviv, Feb 25 (NationPress) On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit to Israel, a prominent Israeli newspaper featured a heartfelt and symbolic greeting on its front page, titled: "Namaste Modi, Two Ancient Nations Open a New Chapter."

PM Modi's visit spans Wednesday and Thursday, during which both nations aim to set new aspirations for their Strategic Partnership and enhance their collective vision for an innovative and thriving future.

This marks PM Modi's second visit to Israel, following his landmark trip in 2017, which initiated new pathways in sectors such as defence, agriculture, and water management.

The front page of The Jerusalem Post prominently displays a photo of PM Modi, alongside key highlights of India's growing partnership with Jerusalem and the advancing strategic relations between the two countries.

The visit is described by the publication as a pivotal moment, emphasizing that while Israel has long regarded India as a valued ally, it is now time to elevate New Delhi to a premier strategic focus.

According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) of India, PM Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will assess the progress of their strategic partnership and outline future cooperation in essential sectors including defence and security, science and technology, innovation, agriculture, water management, trade, economy, and cultural exchanges.

During his stay, PM Modi is also anticipated to meet with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, highlighting the significant political engagement that characterizes their relationship.

The newspaper reflected on the historic July 2017 visit, when PM Modi became the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Israel, marking a significant break from decades of diplomatic restraint. His arrival at Ben-Gurion Airport was seen as a diplomatic milestone.

"This visit is an opportunity to revitalize the ties of our friendship," PM Modi remarked during his 2017 visit, calling it a transformative chapter in bilateral relations.

'The Jerusalem Post' indicated that the upcoming visit is more than just ceremonial. It occurs amid notable geopolitical changes, suggesting that the India-Israel partnership has evolved into a robust foundation of both nations' foreign policies.

Netanyahu famously welcomed PM Modi during his previous visit by stating, "Prime Minister, we have been waiting for you for a long time."

India's Ambassador to Israel, J.P. Singh, informed The Jerusalem Post that this visit comes nearly nine years after the last high-level engagement and holds both symbolic and practical significance. He characterized it as a "very historic visit" that will initiate a "new phase" and a "new chapter" in bilateral relations.

Singh positioned the visit as a political and strategic reset between the two leaders who have maintained close contact over the years. The agenda is expected to center on advanced technology, trade growth, and enhanced strategic cooperation.

Meanwhile, PM Modi, in his departure remarks, expressed eagerness for his discussions with Netanyahu, aimed at further strengthening collaboration across various sectors and sharing insights on regional and global matters.

"I will also have the privilege of being the first Indian Prime Minister to speak before the Israeli Parliament, Knesset, which signifies the strong parliamentary and democratic connections between our two nations," he noted.

PM Modi expressed his anticipation of engaging with members of the Indian diaspora, who have long fostered the special friendship between India and Israel.

"I am confident that my State Visit will further cement the lasting ties between our two nations, establish new objectives for the Strategic Partnership, and advance our shared vision for a resilient, innovative, and prosperous future," PM Modi stated.
