Tragic Road Incident Claims Six Lives and Injures Four in Afghanistan

Kabul, Dec 5 (NationPress) A devastating road incident claimed the lives of six commuters, while four individuals were injured when a jeep careened into a river in the northern province of Badakhshan on Thursday, as reported by the Provincial Director for Information and Culture, Zabihullah Amiri.
The fatal accident occurred on the roadway connecting the Nasai district to the provincial capital, Faizabad, during the early hours of Thursday morning. The vehicle plunged into the river as a result of reckless driving, the official stated, noting that one deceased person and four injured individuals were transported to a nearby hospital.
Rescue operations are currently ongoing to locate the remaining five bodies, the official added, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.
According to locals, factors such as poor road conditions, reckless driving, and the absence of security measures during travel contribute to the alarming rate of deadly road accidents in this conflict-stricken nation.
