Washington, March 7 (NationPress) In a significant announcement on Saturday, U.S. President Donald Trump revealed the establishment of a new multinational military coalition aimed at dismantling drug cartels operating throughout the Western Hemisphere.

During his address at the inaugural Shield of the Americas Summit, Trump stated that this new initiative would unify various governments and military forces in a synchronized effort against organized crime syndicates.

“Today marks a pivotal moment as we unveil a revolutionary military coalition to eradicate the criminal cartels plaguing our region,” Trump proclaimed.

The alliance will be referred to as the Americas Counter Cartel Coalition. “We are naming this military alliance the Americas Counter Cartel Coalition,” Trump reiterated.

He emphasized that leaders from across the region recognized the escalating threat posed by these cartels. “Every leader present today shares the conviction that we can no longer tolerate the lawlessness that exists in our hemisphere,” he stated.

Trump asserted that military intervention is crucial to dismantle these heavily armed criminal organizations. “The only way to defeat these adversaries is by harnessing the full might of our militaries,” he declared.

“We must utilize our military resources. It is essential,” Trump added, noting that many cartels have developed capabilities that rival those of national armed forces. “Numerous cartels have established advanced military operations,” he said.

“In certain instances, they claim to be more formidable than the military forces of the countries they operate in.”

This coalition will unite nations from across the Americas, with the United States taking the lead in intelligence and military strategy. “In many instances, our forces have been collaborating closely with yours,” Trump noted.

“The United States is eager to enhance and broaden that collaboration in the forthcoming months.” He also cautioned that cartel-related violence poses a significant threat to regional stability and security. “These ruthless criminal organizations represent an unacceptable risk to our national security,” he warned.

Furthermore, he stated that cartels facilitate opportunities for competing global powers to extend their influence in the region. “They serve as a perilous gateway for foreign adversaries looking to infiltrate our area,” he explained.

According to U.S. officials, representatives from 17 nations have already committed to this new coalition initiative.

Transnational criminal organizations throughout Latin America have long been responsible for extensive drug trafficking, violence, and corruption, often undermining governments in parts of Central and South America while supplying narcotics to North American markets.
