Throughout his journey in this East Asian country, the Chief Minister engaged with the Indian diaspora while en route to Yamanashi. The community extended a warm reception, showcasing the deep ties between Uttar Pradesh and Indians abroad.
In a post on X, CM Yogi expressed, "I visited the Yamanashi Hydrogen Facility in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, and observed the cutting-edge Power-to-Gas system in action. I applauded the groundbreaking work being done in green hydrogen and clean energy technologies. The innovative practices in Yamanashi provide invaluable lessons for expediting the transition to sustainable energy and clean mobility options."
He further emphasized that Uttar Pradesh is "strongly dedicated to promoting green hydrogen, sustainable energy solutions, and a future characterized by innovation, self-sufficiency, and environmental stewardship."
This visit coincided with a significant investment initiative for Uttar Pradesh, with Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) amounting to nearly Rs 11,000 crore signed with prominent Japanese enterprises. These agreements cover various sectors and are regarded as a substantial enhancement to industrial collaboration between Uttar Pradesh and Japan.
The MoUs include sectors such as agricultural machinery, industrial equipment, automobiles, electronics, hospitality, real estate, industrial printing, and environmental infrastructure. These partnerships are anticipated to bolster the state's manufacturing capabilities while fostering deeper technology-driven cooperation.
Among the companies participating in these agreements are Kubota Corporation, Minda Corporation, Japan Aviation Electronics Industry, Nagase & Co., Ltd., Seiko Advance, O&O Group, Fuji Japanese JV, and Fuji Silvertech Concrete Pvt. Ltd.
Kubota, based in Osaka and established in 1890, is renowned globally for its specialization in agricultural and industrial machinery. Through its partnership with Escorts Kubota Limited, it is expanding its presence in India’s agricultural mechanization sector.
Meanwhile, Minda Corporation and Japan Aviation Electronics Industry are expected to enhance automotive electronics and high-end component manufacturing in Uttar Pradesh.
Nagase & Co., Ltd., which focuses on advanced materials and mobility solutions, will contribute to the development of high-tech manufacturing ecosystems in the state.
The expertise of Seiko Advance in industrial printing inks and coating solutions is anticipated to support advancements in electronics panels, automotive graphics, and consumer appliances.
During the Uttar Pradesh Investment Road Show held in Tokyo, Adityanath presented the state as a premier investment hub in India.
"Uttar Pradesh has established itself as the most sought-after state for investment in India due to its secure environment, robust infrastructure, substantial market potential, and youthful workforce," he stated.
He also pointed out the state’s demographic and economic scale, asserting, "With a population of 25 crore, Uttar Pradesh represents the largest consumer market in the country. A larger population presents both greater challenges and greater opportunities. Over the last 9 years, the state’s economy and per capita income have nearly tripled."
"Investing in Uttar Pradesh is secure because we offer scale, skill, stability, and speed," he noted.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the upcoming Japan Industrial City in the YEIDA region near Noida International Airport, where 500 acres have been specifically allocated for Japanese investors to establish a dedicated industrial cluster with robust connectivity and logistical support.
Furthermore, he outlined investment opportunities in sectors such as semiconductors, data centers, green hydrogen, electric mobility, logistics, and renewable energy. Referring to the 2023 Global Investors Summit, he mentioned that investment proposals worth Rs 40 lakh crore were received, with projects totaling Rs 15 lakh crore already underway.
With 96 lakh MSME units employing over 3 crore individuals and enhanced infrastructure, including expressways, freight corridors, and operational airports, Uttar Pradesh is positioning itself as a pivotal center for expanding India-Japan industrial collaboration.
