Washington, March 14 (NationPress) The White House has responded firmly to a CNN report, labeling it as incorrect regarding US strategies concerning a potential Iranian attempt to block the Strait of Hormuz. This assertion challenges the credibility of a report that questioned the preparedness of American officials amidst the ongoing military operations against Tehran.

In a released statement, White House representatives claimed that the report inaccurately portrayed the US military's planning in relation to Operation Epic Fury, which is aimed at diminishing Iran’s military capabilities.

“Fake News CNN is at it again,” the statement declared, accusing the organization of disseminating “fiction from Democrat sources to undermine our significant achievements in Operation Epic Fury.”

The White House countered claims from CNN that the Pentagon and the National Security Council “had not prepared” for Iran’s potential move to close the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global shipping route.

Officials emphasized that this scenario has been an integral part of US military strategy for an extended period.

“As Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has clearly articulated, the military has been preparing for this specific situation for decades,” the statement asserted.

It added that Operation Epic Fury is explicitly aimed at neutralizing Iran's capacity to threaten international maritime routes.

“Operation Epic Fury is meticulously designed to dismantle Iran’s navy, missiles, drones, and launch capabilities to effectively eliminate any substantial threat to global shipping channels such as the Strait of Hormuz,” the statement elaborated.

The statement also referenced comments from lawmakers who attended classified briefings, who disputed the accuracy of the reporting.

“As the Chairman of the Intelligence Committee, I want to clarify: whoever leaked this information is lying. CNN needs to verify its facts. The US has been preparing for Iran’s attempts to close the strait for decades,” expressed Sen. Tom Cotton.

Another senator present at the briefing, Tim Sheehy, also dismissed the claim.

“I received classified information from the administration. It is categorically untrue that there was no planning for Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz. Lawmakers and national security officials have been aware for years that this was Iran’s strategy when cornered,” Sheehy stated.

The White House reiterated that Operation Epic Fury is committed to achieving its objectives against Iran’s military capabilities.

“Under President Trump’s assertive leadership, Operation Epic Fury is actively pursuing its objectives: dismantling Iran’s ballistic missile stockpile and production capabilities, obliterating its naval forces, cutting off support for its terrorist proxies, and ensuring the regime cannot pose a nuclear threat to the free world,” the statement concluded.
