Guwahati, March 15 (NationPress) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has officially revealed its inaugural list of candidates for the forthcoming 2026 Assam Assembly elections, presenting a total of 14 contenders from various constituencies across the state.
As per an official statement released by the party, these candidates represent constituencies from Upper Assam, Central Assam, and sections of Lower Assam.
This announcement was conveyed through a notification endorsed by Rajesh Sharma, who is the State Prabhari of AAP for Assam.
According to the list, Achyut Das is set to contest from the Naoboicha constituency, while Pulin Gogoi will represent Dergaon. Jarboam Kutum has been selected for Gohpur, and Anurupa Dekaraja will run from Central Guwahati.
The party has also nominated Ashis Hazarika from Khumtai and Tapan Gogoi from Sibsagar. Tikendra Thapa will contest from Rongangadi. In Lower Assam, Zahidu Islam Khan is set to compete from Chenga, and Ranjeet Boro has been named for Naduar.
Pallav Saikia will run from the Titabar constituency, whereas the East Goalpara Assembly seat will see Jinna Amir Hussain representing the party, with Barun Bikas Das contesting from Raha.
In the hill district of Bokajan, Renuka Timungpi has been nominated, while Ananta Gogoi will represent Biswanath constituency.
With this initial list, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party has officially begun its campaign preparations in Assam ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.
Party officials indicated that the candidates were chosen following discussions with state leaders and local units.
