New Delhi, March 27 (NationPress) - The Adani Group announced on Friday that it has been awarded the Net Zero Leadership accolade at the prestigious 'India Climate Samman' during the 'India Climate Week 2026' held in the capital.
The award was presented by Shripad Naik, the Union Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, at an event organized by the Carbon Markets Association of India.
Dr. Arun Kumar Sharma, the Group Head of ESG at Adani Group, graciously accepted the recognition on behalf of the organization.
“This award signifies our unwavering commitment to promoting a low-carbon future through a science-based and scalable methodology,” stated Dr. Sharma.
“We are intensifying our investments in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and integrated infrastructure, while concurrently embedding decarbonization throughout our operations and value chains,” he elaborated.
The award underscores the Adani Group's dedication to enhancing clean energy capacity, advancing green hydrogen technologies, and constructing sustainable infrastructure to facilitate India's energy transition.
The Adani Group remains steadfast in its Net Zero commitment by promoting decarbonization across its enterprises and amplifying clean energy solutions, thus supporting India's shift towards a low-carbon economy and its broader vision of a sustainable, self-reliant growth known as Viksit Bharat.
Earlier this month, the Adani Group was also designated as the official partner for the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development (WED) 2026, an event recognized by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) and delivered by the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO).
This marks the first instance of an Indian organization being honored by the WFEO for its contributions to engineering on this global day.
“We are proving that clean energy can be both large-scale and affordable, powerful yet inclusive. This is India's gift to the world—a model where progress and sustainability advance hand in hand,” commented Sagar Adani, Executive Director of Adani Green Energy.
“Our Khavda renewable energy plant stands as a testament to India's climate initiatives, showcasing the collaborative strength of Adani Green Energy, Adani Energy Solutions, and Adani New Industries as they work together to foster an integrated renewable future,” Sagar Adani concluded.
