Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 16 (NationPress) Prominent startup leaders and specialists asserted that artificial intelligence (AI) is not merely a luxury but an essential tool that can enhance service delivery for many in India, as the nation launched the five-day India AI Impact Summit 2026.
In an interview with IANS during this significant event, Ankit Modi, co-founder and Chief Product Officer at the healthcare firm Qure.ai, highlighted that the vast population presents immense opportunities for AI advancement in India.
"AI is not a luxury but a necessity. We must connect with a large audience, yet the number of experts in the country is limited. When we combine AI with existing expertise, we can reach a broader demographic," Modi explained to IANS.
Discussing Qure.ai, a company transforming the healthcare sector through AI-based solutions, Modi mentioned that AI could yield substantial advantages for India.
"We've observed that through state-level pilot initiatives or healthcare trials with public health systems, we can identify 35% more TB patients. This is critically important not just for the patients but also for their families and friends," he stated, illustrating the global effects of AI in medical imaging across over 100 nations.
Abilash Soundararajan, Founder and CEO of PrivaSapien, conveyed to IANS that AI is rapidly evolving in India, supported by favorable government regulations.
"This growth stems from consumers increasingly depending on AI. As a result, AI will become indispensable across all sectors. It will drastically lower operational costs and significantly boost productivity," Soundararajan noted.
PrivaSapien is a comprehensive privacy engineering platform that assists organizations in visualizing privacy risks, simulating privacy breaches, and mitigating data collaboration and analytics risks.
Harish Amravatkar, who relocated from Silicon Valley and intends to launch an AI startup named Atlanto AI, remarked that India is currently an optimal environment for starting and scaling a startup to a global level.
"This summit offers a valuable chance for young individuals to interact with seasoned professionals. It's a remarkable opportunity for us," he added.
Narayanan Vaidyanathan, Global Head of Policy Development at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), shared with IANS that "This summit is highly beneficial. Representation from over 100 countries is present. Given the current circumstances, this event will fortify the collaboration between academia and industry."
