Chennai, Oct 30 (NationPress) AIADMK's general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami criticized dissenting leaders K.A. Sengottaiyan, O. Panneerselvam, and T.T.V. Dhinakaran on Thursday, accusing them of disloyalty to the party and acting as the “DMK’s B team.”

His remarks followed Sengottaiyan's joint tribute to the Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar memorial in Ramanathapuram alongside the expelled leaders, sparking renewed unrest within the AIADMK.

The trio adorned Thevar’s statue with garlands and performed an arti using the same plate, signifying a bold act of unity that reverberated through AIADMK ranks.

Sengottaiyan’s involvement is noteworthy as he remains a key party member despite his removal from organizational roles.

In Madurai, Palaniswami stated that those aligning with the DMK are undermining the legacies of AIADMK founders M.G. Ramachandran and J. Jayalalithaa.

“Panneerselvam recently remarked that the DMK will regain power in 2026. These individuals are acting as the DMK’s B team. Their betrayal prevented the AIADMK from reclaiming power in 2021,” he said.

Regarding Sengottaiyan’s actions, Palaniswami warned of disciplinary measures against anyone undermining the party's interests. “Any actions against the party will not go unpunished. The AIADMK will not be defeated by traitors,” he asserted, calling discussions about Sengottaiyan, OPS, and Dhinakaran’s collaboration “a waste of time.”

When asked about a series of electoral defeats under his leadership, Palaniswami reminded that the AIADMK had a successful decade of governance, while the DMK struggled in 2011.

“Even with Karunanidhi at the helm, the DMK failed to be the principal opposition party. Yet, the media consistently criticizes us, regardless of our position,” he commented.

Palaniswami also refuted claims of any alliance negotiations with actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) for the 2026 Assembly elections.

“We have not engaged in talks with TVK, nor have they approached us. This is simply a fabrication by the media,” he clarified.

Today's events have illuminated the deep rifts within the AIADMK, with Sengottaiyan's actions viewed as a direct challenge to Palaniswami’s leadership, potentially prompting disciplinary repercussions.
