New Delhi, Sep 7 (NationPress) BJP national spokesperson Ajay Alok sharply criticized RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in response to his social media commentary regarding the ‘double-engine’ government in Bihar. In an interview with IANS, Alok remarked, “One should not heed the comments of a 9th-grade dropout.”
Alok dismissed Yadav's allegations as mere reckless rhetoric, asserting that the NDA government has consistently focused on development and effective governance in Bihar, contrasting it with what he termed the era of jungle raj and corruption during the RJD's administration.
Previously, Tejashwi Yadav had launched a fierce critique of the double-engine government—referring to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi—pointing out issues like poverty, unemployment, migration, and escalating crime rates in the state.
In his rebuttal, Alok provided statistics to highlight the progress made under the NDA's governance: “When RJD was in power under Lalu Prasad Yadav, Bihar's annual budget was only Rs 23,000 crore. Now, under the NDA, it has surged to Rs 3.27 lakh crore.”
In a mocking tone, Alok added: “Just because his name is Tejashwi (meaning ‘bright’), it doesn’t imply he is actually sharp.”
Ajay Alok also addressed the recent vandalism of the Ashoka emblem at the Hazratbal Dargah in Jammu and Kashmir, condemning the act as an affront to India's unity and sovereignty.
He stated, “What occurred with the Ashoka emblem is intolerable. The administration is taking action, and no one involved will evade accountability. It’s disgraceful that the state’s leadership is attempting to justify such actions—there's absolutely no justification for this.”
When responding to opposition critiques regarding the Standard Operating Procedure for Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls, Alok highlighted that the Supreme Court has validated the SIR, affirming that the Election Commission, as a constitutional entity, holds the authority to revise voter lists as per the constitution.
“What’s the need for all this panic?” he questioned.
Alok also reacted to recent comments made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who criticized the credibility of the Election Commission. He stated, “The Congress’s opposition mindset has reached alarming levels. Now they are attacking constitutional institutions like the Election Commission.”
He concluded with a taunt: “Those who are no longer electable are now attempting to confront the Election Commission rather than their political adversaries.”
