Amaravati, Nov 24 (NationPress) The government of Andhra Pradesh is set to roll out the Family Benefit Management System, recognizing each family as a single unit and planning to distribute 1.4 crore smart family cards by June 2026.
During a review meeting held at the secretariat, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the importance of utilizing this system to empower families and directed officials to ensure that the data regarding welfare schemes and civic services is updated and integrated into the smart family cards.
The Chief Minister instructed that arrangements be made to issue smart family cards equipped with QR codes to 1.4 crore families by June of the following year.
These cards are expected to contain both static and dynamic data, which will include information on vaccination, Aadhar, FBMS ID, caste certificates, ration cards, nutritional food, scholarships, and pension details.
He reiterated the necessity for citizens to access all government services and schemes through a single card.
Further, the Chief Minister insisted that the FBMS system should not merely focus on pension and ration card details but should encompass all relevant citizen information.
He highlighted that family cards will serve to transparently deliver civic services and aid in identifying eligible beneficiaries for welfare programs.
According to him, these family cards will simplify the process of accessing government welfare schemes and benefits.
He concluded by stating that all individual data must be updated by January 2026, with family cards distributed by June. Officials were tasked to update data for villagers utilizing the services of Swarnandhra Vision Units.
Present at the meeting were Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand and officials from various departments.
